why does makeup make people have acne breakouts?

its builds up oil and clogs up the pores with dirt and oil.

It’s from some of the chemicals that are in the makeup. There is all natural makeup that will reduce that, but it is always a good idea to use a good daily face wash to get rid of any leftover makeup.
if you wash it off by the end of the day it wont.but makeup helps clear up my acne

not all make-up does that of course, only cheap make-ups that have bad ingrediants in them.
almay blemish healing make-up and phyiscans formula is the only make-up i use and it has never broken me out bc they are oil free and meant for oily/sensitive skin
and it depends on the persons skin if make-up will break them out.
don’t think all make-up will make you break out bc thats not true.

Some make up products can cause people to have an allergic reaction type thing if the product was not meant for their skin type. Example, I have very fair skin, and a sensitive face because I am allergic to the sun and some make ups and cleansers well make me break right out; because of this I have a very hard time cleaning my face and I still have not found make ups or facial cleansers to use

And if it isn’t oil-free. . .that can be a real problem for people with oily skin.
It clogs your pores, when your pores are clog with dirt, pimples are made.
