Q&A: Other than birth control, proactive, and acutane what are really good acne solutions?
Question by summer: Other than birth control, proactive, and acutane what are really good acne solutions?
I’ve had this problem for years and it never goes away for good. I’m in my twenties now and feel like the acne will be there forever. It’s especially on my chin and under my jaw area. Help!
Spectro looks good but I can’t get it here in the US, it looks like you can only get it in Canada.
I tried the minocycline for about a year. It worked ok, but not good enough to stay on it.

I use spectro jel and spectro acne vanishing cream. i love it!!
Clinique just came out with an Acne Solutions line that has some pretty good results. You might also try the Tea Tree line from The Body Shop (it’s a great anti-bacterial). Go to a good day-spa for some anti-acne treatments, or find a beauty school in your area that teaches aesthetics for a very reasonable cost, performed by students.
Try The Wave.
You can get them for around 10 dollars at Target.
I haven’t tried it but the reviews are really good.
Baking soda – A very cheap cooking ingredient that most people have in their homes already, baking soda can be used as a great scrub. The purpose of a scrub is to exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin that can eventually clog pores and lead to acne spots. To start off, you’ll want to mix a small amount of baking soda with some water for form a paste. Baking soda is very effective as a scrub, so you want to be sure to be extra careful when applying it to your face. Gently massage the paste into your skin for ten to fifteen seconds. Then rinse the baking soda off, and pat your face dry with a clean towel.
I had the same problem! Nothing worked. Finally I went to the doctors and got a prescription of Minocyclin, its a pill (I don’t know it i spelt that right. Its pronounced min-o-cycle-lin). That stuff worked amazingly! Then just once a day you wash your face with a gentle wash.
clinique is the best in my opionion
use Clindoxyl Gel ..its the bestt..i had acne all over my chin/forhead and some on my cheeks and my doctor gave me this gel its the besttttt ..my skin was clear and soft after a week of using itt
I use clearasil they have face washes and astringents that I use everyday. I have to use them everyday though because it seems like if I don’t I’ll break out again.
First of all, I have done two Accutane treatments (one when I was 14 and another when I was 20) and never had a bit of problem. I know it gets a lot of bad hype, but if it wasn’t for Accutane I would have a face full of scars and would have been miserable growing up.
Differin gel is AWESOME. I started breaking out a bit again when I was 22, and literally would put Differin on at night and wake up with clear skin.
If you haven’t been to a dermatologist you should definitely go and discuss your options with them.
